Southend Record Fair today had a stall which had just bought a huge collection of 7” singles for £1 each, so I filled my boots and will be having a 7” singles kind of afternoon

Out in Greenwich today and in the market stall I found this 1984 pressing of Augustus Pablo’s King Tubby’s meets Rockers Uptown with cover art I hadn’t seen before

I’m a sucker for the cinematic dream pop of Beach House’s Once Twice Melody LP released earlier this year, my favourite of theirs since the wonderful “Bloom”. I think they are headlining Green Man this weekend - this is such a great album.

Big thanks to the man who, while I was there, popped in to Leigh Records with the contents of his attic including a copy of Edwin Collins’ “A Girl Like You”….
