A new use for all those old vinyl albums…

If you have seen this man, please contact your local police…

I stumbled upon an interesting idea this evening on Q Magazine’s pinterest site: entire portraits and worlds made out gatefold vinyl artwork..

A childishly simple idea that makes you wonder why no-one thought of it before.

It transpires that the people at The Design Inspiration are rather good at it – you can see their album ideas on the Design Inspiration website.

Q Magazine are encouraging people to have a go themselves, so I came up with these two. Perhaps not quite as inspiring as theirs, but it kept me amused for five minutes anyway.

The first mixes Beck’s Sea Change with Dylan‘s Blonde on Blonde and The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers.

The second unites David Bowie and Roxy Music (it had to happen eventually) with Diamond Dogs and Stranded respectively

Normal service will be resumed tomorrow….my pinterest gallery is up and running here…

These are cool. They kind of remind me of The Sleeveface book I have.

    Check them out.

Love the Roxy/Bowie mix. Well done. I noticed you chose the airbrushed version of the Bowie cover. The original cover (with genitalia included) would’ve made for a very interesting hybrid.

Yes – don’t have that particular copy – I think they go for a lot of cash…
